Inside a Luxury Built-In Wardrobe in Sydney’s Darlinghurst
When homeowner Peter set out to transform his bedroom storage, he wanted more than just a practical solution. Living in a stunning industrial-style apartment in the heart of Sydney’s Darlinghurst, the goal was to create a built-in wardrobe that felt as considered as the architecture itself.
Enter Olessio, known for our focus on design quality and innovation, using the finest materials to create wardrobes that don’t just store clothes but makes a statement.
Read on to discover how this extraordinary wardrobe design came to life.

Designing a Wardrobe That Fits the Space (and the Story)
The brief from Peter for the new wardrobe was two-fold. One was to maximise efficiency of storage, fitting a layout of 5 metres wide by 3.5 metres tall.
“The other was to be sympathetic with the architecture of the space,” explains Peter. “We really thought about how we are in industrial building from turn of the century- it had to really suit the context that it was living in.”
Olessio responded with a stunning built-in wardrobe that complements the room’s original details. Every line, material, and finish were carefully selected to suit the wider space, including the floors, walls, and ceiling.

Timeless Finishes with a Sculptural Edge
At first glance, the curved silhouette sets the tone as elegant, subtle, and architectural. The Craie Pelle Leather Touch doors bring a tactile softness, while brushed bronze metallic edging frames the piece with just the right amount of definition.

Adding a sculptural and timeless touch, the Country Aged Bronze Oval Knob handles add what Peter describes as the “jewellery within the robe”, ensuring that it’s a statement piece within the Primary Bedroom.
Luxury Storage Details That Make a Difference
Open the doors and you’ll find interiors finished in Natural Linen Weave, softly lit by LED strips. The layout was designed around Peter’s lifestyle, with a mix of storage solutions including wardrobe lifts, pull-out trouser racks, laundry hampers, and deep drawers.
“We’ve also got a beautiful space for all our sneakers”, adds Peter. “Everything is easily accessible, and I love the LED strip lighting in the wardrobe. It makes life a whole lot easier. You can find your clothes quickly and it makes things look more expensive!”
The Olessio experience: When Wardrobe Design Meets Interior Vision
“Working with Olessio was very easy. They made everything seamless and took my dream and turned it into reality. I couldn’t be happier with the outcome, says Peter. “I would absolutely recommend Olessio to others, particularly for those who have a design mind and who want to be handled with cotton gloves on the service front.”
The connection between Olessio with Coco Republic was also of importance. “The synergies between Coco Republic and Olessio are really in their design ethos, he continues. “I was thinking about how Coco Republic brings bedrooms to life, which is very textural and warm, but quite unique in its design features. Olessio wardrobes are a beautiful companion to that and that that’s I think what’s most important.”
